Nightmares
Many can find the hours immediately before sleep very comfortable; others may have nothing to occupy their minds at the end of the day's activities, and their thoughts wander. These individuals might take a trip back to that place of trauma, that happened in their past. Recurrent dreams of specific traumatic episodes are frequent. Dreams of everyday, common experiences are also frequently reported. For many, just the fear that they might actually be back where they were is very disquieting. Some report being unable to remember their specific dreams, yet they feel dread about them.
Wives and partners report that the men sleep fitfully, and some call out in agitation. A very few actually grab their partners and attempt to do them harm before they have fully awakened. A very few actually grab their partners and attempt to do them harm before they have fully awakened. My wife could not come into bed with me if I were asleep; I would throw a pillow at her or begin to yell at her as if she were someone attacking me.
Finally, maintaining sleep has proven to be a problem for many. They report waking up often during the night for no apparent reason. Sometimes it is like a horror movie running through their head. Many rise quite early in the morning, still feeling very tired.
I did have “flashbacks” in my dreams, probably why I frightened my wife, as I mentioned earlier when she came into bed after I had.
